The Highlands surrounding Loch Earn offer some of the most rewarding hiking in Scotland, with routes ranging from gentle woodland trails to panoramic mountain climbs. Many walks begin right from the hotel, making it easy to explore glens, forests and lochside views at your own pace, in every season.
Creag an Turic- starting at nearby Rob Roy's grave, this walk is 1 hour (2.5km) long, ending in a beautiful view of Loch Voil.
Strathyre Circuit- This walk combines Rob Roy Way and a marked forestry walk. Another 1 hour (3km) walk, great for spotting wildlife.
Glen Ogle Trail - This waymarked trail starts at Lochearnhead village with a climb up to the old railway line. This is a 10km trail which can be boggy.
Ben Vorlich - One of the most popular Munros for beginners (not to confused with Ben Vorlich near Loch Lomond) Ben Vorlich has a great path to the top and amazing views of its tougher neighbour Stob 'a choin as well as Loch Earn. This hike takes 4-5 hours to complete.
Stob 'a Choin- This hike may not reach Munro status (it's classed as a Corbett), it is does rank as one of the steepest/trickiest in this part of the highlands. A demanding hike, not for beginners but beautiful views along the glen at it's summit. 10km trail (4-5 hours).
